The Role
As a Senior Data Engineer within the Global AI department, you will play a pivotal role in enabling our team to derive insights and build ML models from complex datasets. You will work cross-functionally with Data Scientists, ML engineers, and Data Engineers to build and maintain best-in-class data products that improve HelloFresh's user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute as a solution-oriented member within autonomous, cross-functional agile teams, collaborating with product owners, data engineers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, and business intelligence teams.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end process including design, development, and monitoring of data pipelines for data ingestion, feature engineering, and reporting to support ML model training and inference.
- Work with state-of-the-art technologies like PySpark, Tecton, Prefect, Kubernetes, and more.
- Demonstrate an understanding of applied ML concepts and principles.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in data management and engineering across the team.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of HelloFresh's core product and architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Engineering Degree desired.
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of building large-scale data platforms.
- Strong programming skills in Python/PySpark.
- Expertise in SQL databases, data modeling, and ETL orchestration tools.
- Experience building and maintaining feature engineering pipelines for ML model training and inference (nice to have).
