Job Title: Data Analytics Senior Research Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analytics Senior Research Manager to join our team at Medtronic. As a key member of our R&D organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of data analysts and researchers to develop clinically meaningful algorithms for oximetry products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the activities of a scientific group in the research and development of oximetry products.
  • Collaborate with algorithm and product development teams to improve the performance of oximeters through machine learning and signal processing.
  • Develop strategies to ensure effective achievement of scientific objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate completion of tasks and projects.
  • Oversee interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer/Software, Biomedical or similar Engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of algorithm development experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of algorithm development experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated talent development to solve novel technical challenges.
  • Strong SW tool skills (Matlab, Python, etc.).
  • Business acumen (strong understanding of how business operates, and how to harness data and analytics to meet business needs).
  • Strong systems and critical thinking.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience designing and developing algorithms, simulations, and models.
  • Strong data analytics and statistical tool skills (Power BI, Tableau, Minitab, etc.).
  • Experience with machine learning and deep learning.
  • Thorough understanding and wide application of technical principals, theories, and concepts for medical devices.
  • Experience with test method development and medical device quality and regulatory requirements.
  • General knowledge of related principles including electromechanical, tissue optics, physiological signals, etc.
  • Experience and capability of working with global and/or remote team members.
