Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a skilled Linux Systems Engineer to provide support for critical operations within the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This role is integral to ensuring the seamless functioning of systems at a high level.

Key Responsibilities

As a Linux Systems Engineer, you will:
  • Deliver tier three systems support aligned with the SIE OPORD.
  • Utilize extensive technical expertise in both software and hardware environments.
  • Employ advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Engage in the systems engineering process to drive performance enhancements.
  • Participate in collaborative working groups, design evaluations, and system testing.
  • Contribute to assessments and formulate actionable recommendations based on thorough reviews.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the development lifecycle, including documentation and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

Required:
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT.
  • Possession of a DoD TS clearance or higher.
  • Over 10 years of experience in systems and network administration.
  • At least 3 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Experience managing virtual environments and software-defined networking using VMware ESXi or vCenter.
  • Knowledge of Layer 2 and 3 network architecture planning and implementation.
  • Familiarity with bi-directional network transfer systems.
  • DoD IAT Level II Compliant Certification.

Preferred:
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Salt, Ansible, Puppet, PowerShell, Chef, or Terraform.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and/or Azure.
  • Proficient in using security tools including ACAS, Security Center, and Splunk.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
