Job Summary:

AAR is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team. As a Sheet Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal parts, equipment, and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
  • Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or use templates.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block, and form, or straighten materials.
  • Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications.
  • Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing duties.
  • Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned.
  • Clean, disassemble, and identify components, with normal supervision.
  • Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals, and planning documents with normal supervision.
  • Apply different types of conversion coatings and sealants using different types of tools and methods with normal supervision.
  • Work in conjunction with higher-grade Mechanics to further their job knowledge base through OJT with normal supervision.
  • Clean work area, when required, with minimal supervision.
  • Read and understand blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Accomplish basic repairs with normal supervision.
  • Have a basic understanding of computer processes involved in daily operations.
  • Other various duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as defined by the process assigned.
  • Process forms and document work by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with the Quality Management System.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
