Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Project Superintendent to join our team at The Christman Company. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day functions of the Project Superintendent to ensure projects are constructed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Superintendent in overseeing the construction process, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain accurate project schedules, including look-ahead schedules and daily reports.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support in the implementation and execution of our Quality Assurance Program.
  • Participate in jobsite meetings with subcontractors, owners, and architects to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in a related job field, including experience as a construction foreman or equivalent role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge of health and safety laws, as well as basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Procore.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The majority of work will be completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer. The position will be exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires the wearing of protective equipment when on the construction site. Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons.

The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
