Electrical Superintendent Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team at DPR Construction. As a key member of our field leadership team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day scheduling and field coordination of all aspects of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and low voltage systems on our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pre-construction and project teams in reviewing trade partner proposals, schedules, and logistics.
  • Manage the installation of electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low voltage systems, fire/life safety, and fire protection design/construction coordination.
  • Participate in review of electrical related shop drawings and submittals.
  • Assist in developing full commissioning plans for all electrical systems.
  • Oversee the start-up, balancing, commissioning, and validation certification of MEP systems.
  • Develop and oversee project-specific MEP quality and safety programs.
  • Create construction schedules and monitor logic relationships.
  • Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain relationships with neighboring occupants.
  • Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction to achieve project occupancy milestones.
  • Lead DPR's injury-free environment safety program.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource-loading.
Qualifications:
  • Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction concepts and applicable codes.
  • Able to work with multiple stakeholders to identify and resolve complex issues related to electrical design and construction.
  • Ability to run complex meetings and issue minutes promptly.
  • Good understanding of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems and their integration with mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
  • Good understanding of the test and balance process and requirements.
  • Good understanding of building automation systems and sequences as it relates to MEP.
  • Good understanding of electrical-related safety regulations.
  • Ability to contribute to a culture of safety in a construction environment.
  • Proficient in the use of current virtual design and construction software.
  • Experience with CPM scheduling and lean pull planning processes.
  • Proficient computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam.
  • Comfortable in an open and collaborative working environment.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to create and support a positive team environment.
  • 5+ years of experience as a MEP Superintendent, preferably within DPR's core markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not required.
  • A strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
