Position Overview:

This role entails executing System Safety evaluations in alignment with the most recent iteration of MIL-STD-882, Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), and relevant standards as directed by governmental agencies. The Principal Systems Safety Engineer will oversee safety responsibilities throughout the lifecycle of various programs while engaging with multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough System Safety Analysis and Hazard Tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with military standards and configuration control.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop and maintain Systems Safety Program Plans (SSPP) and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in MIL-STD-882E and System Safety Analysis.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and organizational skills to enhance system safety competencies.
  • Proficient in technical writing for complex systems documentation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in system safety engineering.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) MIL-standards.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for program events and training activities.
