Key Responsibilities
Direct Patient Engagement:
- Provide clinical care services and communicate effectively with patients.
- Measure vital signs and gather essential patient intake information.
- Conduct clinical procedures including blood draws, vaccinations, nebulizer treatments, ear lavages, and EKGs.
- Assess patient needs and deliver educational resources directly to them.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked and prepared for procedures.
Support for Providers and Teams:
- Facilitate provider workflows to optimize patient care delivery.
- Ensure providers have all necessary information for patient visits, including diagnostic images and lab results.
- Assist in various departments, including women's health, pediatrics, and general medicine, as required.
Administrative Duties:
- Utilize electronic health records to manage and document clinical treatment plans as directed by providers.
- Communicate with patients via phone or email under the guidance of a provider or Registered Nurse.
- Provide patients with necessary documents after ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain compliance with position requirements.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A valid Medical Certificate from an accredited program is required.
- One year of experience as a medical assistant is preferred.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- Understanding of medical procedures and terminology.
- Experience with electronic health records systems is advantageous.
- Intermediate skills in computer usage and data entry.
- Ability to anticipate the needs of patients and providers with sound judgment.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and time-sensitive tasks.
- Utilize emotional and cultural intelligence to ensure effective communication and patient care.
- Demonstrate compassion towards patients and colleagues.
- Bilingual capabilities in English/Spanish, English/Farsi, or English/Arabic are preferred, with a requirement to pass a Language Proficiency Test if needed.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and ethical standards.
Benefits
Neighborhood Healthcare provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, over two weeks of vacation, nine holidays (including two floating holidays), sick/personal time, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), a 403b retirement plan, optional health and wellness events, and more.
Compensation: $32.55 per hour, based on experience.
