Anesthesiologist Specialist for VA Department

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to join our team at the Department of Veteran Affairs. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to our patients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to teach and mentor residents, medical students, and other learners in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anesthesia Services: Provide expert anesthesia care to patients undergoing various surgical and out-of-the-operating room procedures.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, NPs, and other healthcare professionals to deliver seamless patient care.
- Schedule and Call: Enjoy a flexible schedule with 8-10 hour days on a rotating basis, averaging 40 hours per week. You'll also have general call from home approximately 1 day per week and every 8th weekend call from home.
- Cases and Opportunities: Participate in a wide range of cases, including orthopedic, ENT, general surgery, vascular, gynecology, urology, plastics, and ophthalmology procedures. Off-site cases may include GI, EP, bronch, and IR procedures.
- Training and Development: Have the opportunity to work with anesthesia residents and SRNAs in all anesthetized locations, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
- Work-Life Balance: Enjoy dedicated time for rest and relaxation post-call and administrative duties.
- Academic Appointment: Hold an academic appointment with George Washington University, fostering opportunities for research and education.
Prior Experience and Training: Preference will be given to candidates with additional training or experience in advanced cardiothoracic anesthesia, acute perioperative pain management/regional anesthesia, or perioperative anesthesia services.
Benefits: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
