Job Summary

Providence Milwaukie Hospital is seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team. As a Music Therapist, you will coordinate and provide clinical programs and services to patients with a wide variety of diagnoses and disabilities in the acute Senior Psychiatric unit. Your primary responsibility will be to develop programs that promote and contribute to the rehabilitation effort and provide patients and their families/caregivers with the skills and resources necessary for successful communication/leisure reintegration after discharge.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate and provide clinical programs and services to patients with a wide variety of diagnoses and disabilities in the acute Senior Psychiatric unit.
- Develop programs to promote and contribute to the rehabilitation effort and provide patients and their families/caregivers with the skills and resources necessary for successful communication/leisure reintegration after discharge.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and their families/caregivers.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or a related field from an accredited college/university.
- Current certification with the American Music Therapy Association or the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation upon hire.
- Board certification as a Music Therapist upon hire (preferred).
- Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association upon hire (preferred).
