We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at UNC Health. As an OTA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient-centered care to a diverse patient population in our acute hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to interdisciplinary team meetings to plan patient care, discuss family education plans, and discharge plans.
- Document patient treatment and progress toward goals in the medical record, and complete department records for team communication, billing, and statistics.
- Instruct occupational therapy and occupational therapist assistant students, and precept occupational therapist assistants to evaluate their competency.
- Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments to patients, designing activities or exercises to meet OT goals, and teaching patients techniques and use of adaptive equipment to increase independence in activities of daily living.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives with the clinical specialist and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the quality of clinical services through maintenance of valid and reliable records of patient procedures and progress.
- Graduation from an accredited two-year Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of North Carolina.
- No prior experience required.
