POSITION SUMMARY:
As a vital member of the Dialysis Care Center, the In-Center Hemodialysis Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Adhering to established policies and regulatory standards, this position ensures compliance with all necessary protocols while fostering a supportive environment for patients and their families.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and guide Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) in daily patient care activities.
  • Evaluate and verify the accuracy of documentation from new staff members.
  • Administer direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, conducting pre-evaluations, and managing the entire dialysis process.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and perform physical assessments of patients, including administering medications and transcribing physician orders.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments effectively.
  • Monitor laboratory results, ensuring appropriate procedures for specimen collection and shipping.
  • Communicate critical lab results and emergencies to the medical team promptly.
  • Assess patient responses to treatment and adjust care plans as necessary, in collaboration with physicians.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures through regular audits.
  • Educate patients and their families about End Stage Renal Disease and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support across various dialysis centers as needed.

  • Deliver exceptional service to patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Foster effective communication and relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Proactively address and resolve customer service issues in a timely manner.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (RN or BSN).
  • Valid state nursing license.
  • Current CPR certification.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred: Minimum of 6 months experience in hemodialysis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


The role requires a combination of desk work and direct patient interaction. Employees may be exposed to infectious materials and must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
