Shop Foreman

Western States Fire Protection is seeking a skilled Shop Foreman to oversee the organization and efficiency of our shop supplies and processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that duties are consistently monitored and completed within our company values.

• Organize and dispense materials for delivery, conducting quality control checks before materials reach the jobsite.
• Receive and distribute materials daily, ensuring timely delivery to jobs or trucks.
• Collect materials at vendors and deliver to job sites, maintaining a clean and organized shop.
• Monthly, organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that special tools and shop equipment are in proper operating condition.
• Select, repair, and organize tools as needed, operating a forklift and other equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
• Write POs for divisions in the branch, reconciling POs in the system to ensure timely receipt, payment, and completion on projects.
• Conduct weekly vehicle inspections, tracking action items and completing repairs quickly.
• Forecast shop needs ahead of time, ensuring tools, safety equipment, vehicles, materials, and others are fully stocked without causing delays or loss of production.
• Develop shop assistants to ensure production and quality work is produced for all tasks assigned.
• Schedule repairs for the building with preferred vendors, maintaining the building's maintenance.
• Help build processes for each task, assisting with other Texas branches - Corpus Christi and Donna.
• Manage costs by tracking WSFP assets, ensuring expensive tools, equipment, and others are logged and current records remain in place to avoid losses.
• Be a part of our Safety Culture, ensuring all trucks, tools, and equipment are properly verified for quality and assigned to others with Safety in mind.

• Construction industry experience is preferred.
• Fabrication experience is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean record - in accordance with company policy.
• Will to pass a post-offer background check and drug test.
• Intermediate computer skills and able to work with Excel and Word.
