Shop Foreman

Western States Fire Protection is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to join our team. As a Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our shop, including the organization and maintenance of inventory, tools, and equipment.

• Organize and dispense materials for delivery, ensuring quality control checks are completed before materials reach the jobsite.
• Receive and distribute materials daily, ensuring timely delivery to jobs or trucks.
• Collect materials at vendors and deliver to job sites daily.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop, ensuring special tools and equipment are in proper operating condition.
• Select, repair, and organize tools as needed.
• Operate a forklift and other tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
• Write purchase orders for divisions in the branch and reconcile POs in the system to ensure timely receipt, payment, and completion of projects.
• Conduct weekly vehicle inspections and track action items, ensuring repairs are completed promptly.
• Forecast shop needs ahead of time to ensure tools, safety equipment, vehicles, materials, and other essential items are stocked without causing delays or losses.
• Develop and train shop assistants to ensure production and quality work are produced for all assigned tasks.
• Schedule repairs for the building with preferred vendors and maintain the maintenance of the building.
• Help build processes for each task, including assisting with other Texas branches - Corpus Christi and Donna.
• Manage costs by tracking WSFP assets, ensuring expensive tools, equipment, and other items are logged and current records remain in place to avoid losses.
• Participate in our Safety Culture by ensuring all trucks, tools, and equipment are properly verified for quality and assigned to others with safety in mind.

• Construction industry experience is preferred.
• Fabrication experience is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude is essential.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean record, in accordance with company policy.
• Will to pass a post-offer background check and drug test.
• Intermediate computer skills and ability to work with Excel and Word.

Moderate standing, walking, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work inside and outside, around moving objects and with vehicles and machinery with moving parts.
