Artera is seeking a Head of Cybersecurity Operations to spearhead our comprehensive information security initiatives. In this role, you will oversee the strategic direction and management of security operations that safeguard both our company’s and our clients’ sensitive data. You will familiarize yourself with our control frameworks and manage compliance across all domains of the security program. A genuine enthusiasm for security and a commitment to data protection are essential.

You will possess strong organizational abilities and excel in cross-departmental collaboration. Your experience will include managing diverse teams and leading significant initiatives such as SOC, ISO, and HITRUST audits. You will be adept at operationalizing security requirements and identifying and mitigating various risks within the organization. Your capability to develop, implement, and execute processes in a dynamic environment will be crucial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Cybersecurity team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks, including HITRUST, HIPAA, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, and SOC 2 Type 2.
  • Lead and manage security requirements for large-scale projects.
  • Consult with stakeholders regarding FedRAMP Authorization.
  • Enhance and maintain security and technology-related policies, procedures, and standards that address security needs related to strategies, regulations, and business risks.
  • Conduct information security control reviews and assessments across technology and business units.
  • Provide guidance on security-related matters and facilitate complex projects across the organization amidst uncertainty.
  • Identify, assess, track, and manage security risks and control exceptions across Artera's security domains.
  • Engage in security-related discussions with clients.
  • Respond to RFPs and security questionnaires.
  • Lead responses to security incidents.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • 8+ years of experience in information technology security programs, audits, assessments, risk management, or remediation.
  • Familiarity with implementing security requirements for FedRAMP Authorization, particularly FedRAMP Moderate or High.
  • Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.) are preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment capabilities.
  • Proficient project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with NIST 800-53, PCI DSS, SSAE 18, or other risk-centric standards and frameworks.
  • Experience in internal or external IT auditing.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure security principles.
  • Experience working with distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with SaaS environments.
  • Background in the healthcare sector.
