Lead Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Medical Assistant to join our team at Marin Community Clinics. As a key member of our clinical support staff, you will provide exceptional support to our medical providers, including pediatric and adult medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct supervisory support to medical assistants, including daily assignments and call-ins.
- Problem-solve and resolve medical assistant issues, escalating to the Clinic Director only when necessary.
- Assist with disciplinary action, including performance management, under the supervision of the Clinic Director.
- Order, inventory, and maintain sufficient levels of vaccines.
- Plan and deliver training and in-services with input and support from the Clinic Director and Director of Nursing.
- Work closely with the Clinic Director on medical assistant staffing at the clinics.
- Maintain clinic work flows.
- Assist the Clinic Director with completion and planning of medical assistant performance evaluations.
- Print hospital and lab reports as needed.
- Direct and supervise medical assistant visits and assign cleaning protocols for work stations.
- Follow care team responsibilities as outlined in the Care Team Patient Center medical Home procedures.
- Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- 6 months to 1 year related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Medical Assistant certification from an accredited Medical Assistant educational program.
- California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification required.
- Current CPR certification.
- Minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) language skills are required.
- Prior work experience leading a Medical Assistant team highly desired.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and follow-up on tasks in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in English/Spanish verbally and written.
- Ability to read Spanish required.
- Prior work experience using NextGen Electronic Health Records software a plus.
- Ability to work flexible work hours as needed, including evenings or weekends as necessary.
