Job Summary

The ASG Solutions Engineer - Managed Services is a key role at SHI GmbH, focused on driving growth of the company's managed services business by selling to new and existing customers. The individual will be the subject matter expert in SHI's managed services portfolio and leverage a consultative sales approach to qualify opportunities, understand customer needs and budget, position services and pricing, overcome objections, collect customer data, and work the opportunity to contract signature.

This position will report to the Solutions Director or Solutions Manager in the Advanced Solutions Group.

This is a remote position with a home office setup as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

The ASG Solutions Engineer - Managed Services will:

  • Collaborate with account teams to understand the maturity levels of customer cloud environments through review and evaluation of cloud technologies, consumption, implementations, and processes.
  • Design and propose cloud solutions that meet customer business objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to drive the solution, including making recommendations and aligning next steps for a sale.
  • Strengthen technical relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), strategic and emerging partners, and key cloud partners.
  • Educate sales teams on cloud solution selling and key technologies through 1x1 training, team training, and company training.
  • Conduct product training and positioning for the sales team and customer.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platforms.

Required Skills

The ASG Solutions Engineer - Managed Services must have:

  • High capacity to design cloud infrastructure including hybrid cloud, hyper-converged, infrastructure/platform as a service, micro-services, security, IAM, and governance.
  • Ability to work with cloud architecture frameworks such as CSA, Microsoft Azure Reference Architecture, and AWS architecture best practices.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Must be results-driven with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills are critical.

Certifications Required

The ASG Solutions Engineer - Managed Services will be required to obtain the following certifications within 12 months from hire date:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (preferred to have upon application).
  • Azure Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (preferred to have upon application).
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty.
  • Microsoft AZ-100, 300, or 500 Series certifications.
  • MCSA – Cloud Platform.
  • MCSE – Cloud Platform and Infrastructure.
  • Google Cloud Platform Architect.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer in Red Hat OpenStack.
  • Other relevant certifications for public cloud, DevOps, containers, etc.

Unique Requirements

The ASG Solutions Engineer - Managed Services will be required to travel to conferences, meetings, and partner/customer sites as needed, up to 20%.

Additional Information

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
