Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to serve as a Clinical Mentor in our Procedural areas, including Interventional Radiology, Neuro IR, ICAR, Cath Lab, EP Lab, Radiology Nursing, Cardiac Diagnostics, and Cardiac Rehab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop expertise in training, coaching, and mentoring staff to deliver high-quality nursing care.
  • Orient, educate, and develop nursing staff to ensure competence and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities.
  • Assist in creating and delivering educational programs to maintain and improve staff knowledge, skill development, and clinical competence.
  • Provide feedback and consultation to nursing leadership, clinical educators, and preceptors regarding nurses' progress throughout the transition to practice period.
  • Monitor nurses' development through educating, mentoring, and precepting phases in the classroom setting, simulation laboratory, and on assigned nursing units.
  • Apply principles of adult learning theories to facilitate learning and development of new knowledge, skills, and critical thinking.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in procedural/critical care nursing, with 3 months of experience serving as a preceptor.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
