Patient Care Technician Neuro Ortho Nights

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our Neuro Ortho Unit at Menorah Medical Center. As a PCT, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Responsibilities- Participate in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care, including admissions data, vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient information as outlined by policy.
- Assist with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients. Assist with use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs. Transfers patients to and from other units, departments, or entities. Assist with discharges. Demonstrates proper body mechanics.
- Obtain or assist in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests. Ensures accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living to include eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination. Changes bed linens as needed.
- Serves as Monitor/Telemetry Tech for the unit as needed.
- Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
Our Neuro Ortho Unit is a 45-bed unit with private rooms, and we are a joint commission accredited in hip and knee replacements as of 2018. We have a supportive nurse leadership team, experienced Charge RNs, and exceptional physician support. Our team is committed to providing exceptional patient care and creating a positive work environment.
What We Offer- A minimum of a High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting, Preferred.
- Kansas Certified Nursing Assistant License required or completion of the HCA Pre-Star Tech program within 60 days of hire date.
- BCLS certification required upon hire unless completing the HCA Pre-Star Tech program then BCLS required within 60 days of hire date.
