The NPI Process Engineer II is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of methods, operational sequences, and processes involved in the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. This role requires collaboration with design engineering to coordinate the launch of new products. The engineer will estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards, and provide recommendations for tooling and process requirements for both new and existing product lines. Additionally, this position involves maintaining records and reporting systems to ensure smooth coordination of manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate project meetings (internally and externally) to discuss the manufacturing of new products.
  • Lead PFMEA teams (internally and externally) to conduct thorough analyses.
  • Prepare and present Design Transfer documentation during Design Reviews.
  • Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and complete Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and SAP tasks for new products.
  • Support production sites in developing routing as necessary.
  • Conduct print reviews and offer recommendations for manufacturability.
  • Analyze process capability data and provide actionable recommendations based on findings.
  • Assist Quality Engineering in completing Measurement System Analysis (MSA) tasks and developing control plans.
  • Contribute to the creation of Compliance Evaluation Reports (CERs) for new product launches.
  • Support the development of process capability, validation protocols, and Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies.
  • Possess materials experience/knowledge in manufacturing with (all or some): Titanium, Aluminum, Cobalt Chrome, Stainless Steels, medical-grade plastics, etc.
  • Have process experience/knowledge in (all or some): machining of metals and/or plastics (e.g., lathe, mill, CNC, EDM, multi-axis equipment), casting, forging, grinding, finishing, complex assembly, etc.
  • Understand Good Manufacturing Practices and Shop Floor Control.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • At least two years of experience in Engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience in the field; still developing higher-level knowledge and skills.
  • Builds understanding of the company, processes, and customer needs.
  • Solves a variety of straightforward problems, analyzing potential solutions using standard procedures.
  • Receives moderate mentorship and guidance.
  • Communicates complex information clearly in straightforward situations.
  • Understands key business drivers and is aware of competitive landscape; applies this understanding to achieve work objectives.
