Project Engineer Role

The Project Engineer plays a critical role in the success of our projects, overseeing on-site administration, managing office engineers and jobsite administrators, and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collating essential data and preparing monthly owner pay applications
  • Identifying and resolving interface conflicts between the company and trade partners
  • Supporting field supervisors in interpreting drawings, specifications, and RFIs
  • Developing and managing cost control and labor recap alongside the project manager and project superintendent
  • Processing and estimating all potential change orders and requests for information
  • Managing project schedule development and maintenance
  • Assisting with engineering details and special designs
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress
  • Conducting weekly owner/architect/contractor meetings and maintaining meeting minutes
  • Collaborating in monthly margin analysis
  • Updating and maintaining project records utilizing the Book of Records system
  • Participating in jobsite safety meetings and audits
  • Facilitating the quality control plan and engaging in related inspections
  • Assisting in interpreting BIM and VDC specifications
  • Supervising, training, and mentoring office engineers and jobsite administrators
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A 5-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management
  • A minimum of 2-4 years' experience on sizable commercial construction projects
  • A valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite
