Project Manager III

Job Summary:
As a Project Manager III at Sunbelt Controls, you will be responsible for managing the execution of daily project requirements and activities, while responding to customer demands. You will utilize sound project management principles, practices, and techniques to manage day-to-day project activities, ensuring financial results and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop personal intellectual and technical product knowledge specific to the needs of the business and projects.
* Manage, support, mentor, and develop junior-level project engineers.
* Support a portfolio of multiple ongoing projects throughout the project life cycle, maintaining customer satisfaction, financial goals, and quality.
* Develop and update project implementation plans, coordinating resources for timely and cost-effective installation and completion of assigned projects or tasks.
* Work with the Project Manager to ensure profitable completion of each project.
* Contribute to effectively managing a project's cash flow, cost, and billings.
* Provide input to the PM to consistently produce billings in a timely and accurate manner, in a format required by customers, and ensure clear communication of billings to customers.
* Maintain all profitability goals and positive cash flow on assigned projects.
* Understand and provide input on cost allocation to financial reporting systems.
* Effectively communicate financial status to management.
* Manage and provide documentation for the project file, including correspondence, requests for information, change orders, logs, and project schedules.
* Change order management and upselling of scope is a requirement of this position.
* Support the engineering design process, including coordination with controls engineering team activities, providing input for configuration, design, and engineered systems in the most cost-effective manner while maintaining quality and ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Manage and oversee project construction for compliance with specifications, codes, material, installation techniques, safety activities, and Sunbelt standards.
* Manage material procurement process for assigned projects, selecting and ordering appropriate materials, maintaining and monitoring material usage, cost, and inventory control, and obtaining lead time discounts when possible.
* Develop and maintain internal project construction schedules using 3rd party software programs such as MS Project as required.
* Manage, support, and provide oversight to all 3rd party commissioning requirements on assigned projects.
* Plan and monitor commissioning process and checkout of the system before release to the owner/operator, ensuring job completion documentation is complete.
* Properly assign technical resources for problem resolutions on projects as necessary.
* Proactively evaluate potential problems on the job and initiate action to limit negative outcomes, reviewing customer's systems during installation and pointing out areas of improvement resulting in value-added change orders.
* Provide estimates for additional work for customers with the help of the project manager.
* Coordinate on-site visits for service personnel and ensure transition to service is achieved.
* Ensure owner/operator is familiar with and has been trained on the total system, providing proper project closeout documentation and/or manuals for system operations.
* Develop and maintain viable relationships with customers, prime contractors, subcontractors, and trade personnel.
* Attend job progress meetings as necessary and provide detailed instructions to and interfaces with installers and subcontractors.
* Have a basic level of understanding of the control products and user interfaces represented by the Company or acquire these skills through self-directed training.
* Practice safe work habits and participate in office safety program requirements and specific safety requirements of all assigned projects.
* Attend and successfully complete OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 safety training classes, adhering to all Company and site-specific safety standards & requirements and having a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
* Take personal responsibility for the successful completion of any assigned formal training and ongoing development program activities.
* Participate in the ongoing personal development program with other engineers for processes, product, and systems knowledge required of the business.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred and/or 7-10 years of related work and engineering experience in the Controls or Construction Industry.
* Familiar with construction trade labor practices.
* Working knowledge of MS Office, Windows, and MS Project. Basic TCP/IP network structure and web navigation are desired.
* Highly organized and able to work in a high-paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet schedules given by Sunbelt leadership.
* Demonstrates effective work delegation techniques and can provide constructive work instructions to Sunbelt, subcontractor, and other vendor personnel.
* Understands and demonstrates effective coaching and just-in-time performance management for subordinate staff.
* Able to operate independently and autonomously, taking ownership of all assigned tasks.
* Possess a valid driver's license.
* Ability to execute work to ensure high customer satisfaction and the highest quality deliverable.
* Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills are a requirement of this position.

Physical Requirements:
* Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
* While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
* The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
* The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
* You are a responsible person with the ability to multi-task. You understand that regular and routine attendance is required.
Competitive Wages:
$98,000 to $145,000 Annual Salary. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
