Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team at Pactiv Evergreen. As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for performing basic troubleshooting and maintenance work on automation equipment, recovering robots when they malfunction, and determining the root cause of electrical and mechanical robot and PLC failures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production line equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair gears, bearings, sprockets, and other mechanical drive systems
  • Understand schematics for pneumatic and hydraulic systems and maintain those systems
  • Utilize CMMS to record equipment deficiencies, corrective actions, and to assess equipment breakdown trends
  • On-call as needed by department and able to be flexible with schedule as needed
Requirements
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and strong technical skills including mechanical, electrical, and PLC programming
  • Strong skills in customer service, interpersonal, oral communication, written communications, teamwork, judgment, motivation, planning, organizing, professionalism, quality, quantity, safety, adaptability, attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative, innovation
  • HS Diploma or Equivalency, preferred associate's degree
  • 5+ years automation technician experience within robot and PLC
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting experience with Allen Bradley and ABB equipment is preferred
