Job Title: Controls Technician

We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our team at Brady Trane Services, Inc. in North Carolina. As a leading Trane independent office, we offer efficient, reliable, and secure building solutions throughout central and eastern North Carolina.

Job Summary:

The Controls Technician will be responsible for the programming, technical checkout, owner training, and assists in subcontractor coordination on Building Automation projects. This role requires a strong understanding of building automation systems, HVAC controls, and Trane products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure, setup, and calibrate end devices on factory or field-installed hardware
  • Create and program site databases
  • Utilize Checkout documentation provided by engineering to verify system performance
  • Examine and troubleshoot communication links and local area networks
  • Provide technical assistance to installation subcontractors as required
  • Identify, analyze, and diagnose BAS and system problems through remote interface means or directly while on site
  • Ensure documentation procedures are followed as an ongoing process
  • Maintain accurate and complete project notes that can be used by engineering for As-Built drawings
  • Ensure project database and graphics database are backed up to network drive at job completion
  • Provide remote access information for sites to Virtual Service
  • Represent company by serving as a direct customer contact, working to develop, maintain, and enhance customer relationships
  • Provide on-site Owner Training Classes for customers
  • Participate in ongoing training opportunities (TPC, Online webinars, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable with the products and services offered by Brady and effective in the sales of those products and services
  • Inspect, maintain, and complete necessary repairs for all company-provided materials, including fleet vehicle, tools, equipment
  • Maintain service uniform wear, such as hats, shirts, pants, and shoes, to ensure compliance with company dress code
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, legal regulations, and recommended best practices
  • Collaborate with all Associates to uphold the company's mission and values
  • Travel 50% of the time is required

Physical Demands and Environmental Exposure:

This position requires regular standing, talking, hearing, and using hands/fingers to grasp/handle/feel. The employee frequently walks, reaches, stoops, kneels, crouches, climbs up and down ladders, and/or crawls. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires frequent working outdoors, inside mechanical/equipment rooms, and regular exposure to extreme inside/outside weather conditions, including extreme hot and/or extreme cold. This position is regularly exposed to live voltage, moving mechanical parts, and heavy equipment. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
