Position Summary:
As a Turbine Engine Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing repairs or overhauls on turbine engines, which includes troubleshooting, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, machining, assembly, testing, and preservation tasks. You will ensure that all aircraft, engines, modules, accessories, or parts are approved for return to service, adhering to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
(The following duties are not listed in order of importance; additional tasks may be assigned.)
- Execute necessary troubleshooting and repairs on turbine engines, both on and off wing.
- Disassemble and assemble various turbine engine models, utilizing appropriate aircraft tools and equipment.
- Inspect engine parts for defects using precision measuring tools.
- Evaluate engine components to determine repairability, utilizing micrometers and other precision measurement tests.
- Conduct inspections to fulfill NDT requirements on aircraft engine parts.
- Utilize database systems to manage parts inventory and ensure proper documentation.
- Refer to technical publications and regulatory requirements to complete tasks in the correct sequence.
- Maintain general facility cleanliness and perform maintenance tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of experience in gas turbine engine maintenance and repair.
- Previous experience with turbine engines in the aerospace industry is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- FAA Power Plant license is required or must be obtained within one year of employment.
- FAA Airframe license is preferred.
- Level II NDT Certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with peers and clients.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Physical and Mental Demands:
The role requires physical exertion to lift and move objects, as well as the ability to perform detailed mechanical work under normal mental stresses.
Work Environment:
Work is conducted in engine shop environments, which may include exposure to elevated noise levels and outside weather conditions.
