We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Lewiston, ME facility. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant and will assume responsibility for maintaining the physical assets of the property.
Key Responsibilities- Take an active role in workplace safety by engaging in safe workplace practices and communicating any equipment-based safety issues to the maintenance manager/supervisor and production supervisor.
- Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company and the facility.
- Install new or troubleshoot mechanical devices in operation, dismantle and examine devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, and adjust, repair, and/or replace defective parts as necessary.
- Troubleshoot electrical controls, including PLCs, motors, and variable speed drives systems, and ability to work on power systems 480VAC and below.
- Install new or repair/modify hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
- Operate forklift and hydraulic working platform as needed.
- Set up and operate shop machinery, such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, cutting torches, welders, etc., and use hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment.
- Fabricate basic metal equipment using welding and other methods that the facility needs to support operations.
- Complete all assigned maintenance work to the established standards in a timely and effective manner with minimum guidance or intervention.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or Licensed Journeyman in lieu of degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting controls systems, electric components, pneumatic, instrumentation, and mechanical devices.
- Proven expertise in industrial electrical, including design, sizing, installation, and component-level troubleshooting.
- Experience in other fields of maintenance, such as plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, welding, forklift repair, etc., and competent PC (MS Office and Windows) computer skills desired.
