Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated CNC Applications Specialist to join our team at Swift Placement & Consulting. This role offers the opportunity to provide expert technical assistance to clients, sales teams, and during trade exhibitions for CNC machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver application engineering support under the guidance of senior professionals.
  • Engage in training sessions with experienced colleagues and external resources.
  • Prepare fixtures and workholding setups for demonstrations, test cuts, and turnkey projects.
  • Conduct time assessments for customer components.
  • Calculate optimal machining speeds and feeds for efficient part processing.
  • Utilize CAPPS conversational programming, industry-standard CAM software, and G-Code/Macro programming to create CNC programs.
  • Set up CNC machines with the necessary programs, tools, workpieces, and fixtures.
  • Inspect finished components to ensure quality and precision.
  • Generate comprehensive engineering reports and technical documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with internal technical teams, external clients, and suppliers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline is preferred, along with machining knowledge.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with part processing, metal cutting, CNC programming, and machine setup.
  • Basic understanding of metallurgy.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Work Environment:

This position involves exposure to manufacturing and machining settings, which may include potential hazards such as noise, electrical equipment, chemicals, and heavy machinery. A general office environment will also be part of the work experience.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent activities include travel, operating a vehicle, standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Candidates should be prepared for repetitive movements and the occasional lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
