Job Responsibilities

  1. Key Responsibilities:
    1. Ensure precision and punctuality in all accounting operations.
    2. Establish and maintain robust financial controls.
    3. Supervise entries to the General Ledger.
    4. Manage monthly financial closures.
    5. Generate monthly and year-to-date financial reports and departmental summaries.
    6. Oversee bi-weekly payroll processes.
    7. Manage Workers Compensation and insurance documentation.
    8. Audit various expense claims.
    9. Provide necessary information for auditing purposes.
    10. Monitor accounts receivable and notes receivable.
    11. Ensure all office functions are adequately covered.
    12. Prepare cost reports and handle discrepancies.
    13. Assist the Vice President of Finance and Administration with special projects.
    14. Train and assess new Accounting Assistants.
    15. Organize and delegate responsibilities, motivating the administrative and corporate office teams.
    16. Safeguard sensitive documents requiring confidentiality.
    17. Recommend operational and capital budgets, ensuring compliance with agency guidelines.
    18. Engage in activities that promote the agency's growth and development.
    19. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and service providers to support agency objectives.
    20. Demonstrate cultural and socioeconomic sensitivity in all work-related interactions.
    21. Familiarity with Sage Intacct software is preferred.
    22. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred; experience in bookkeeping through trial balance is essential, with a minimum of five years in accounting.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are necessary.
  • Completion of an online application is mandatory.
