Medical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine and stat clinical pathology testing, reporting results in a timely manner, and utilizing basic problem-solving skills to assure accurate and reliable clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provides patient-focused care in a clinical setting through the accurate performance of routine tests through the pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic stages.
- Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Actively participates in compliance and quality management activities.
- Consistently promotes teamwork and utilizes constructive communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrates proficiency of diagnostic testing in practical applications.
- Maintains equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
- Understands the goal of increasing organizational productivity and individual performance by making the products and services within your work assignments more efficient and more effective.
- Performs tasks that are typically routine that may impact team's performance with occasional guidance.
- Utilizes some discretion and research to solve routine problems.
- Applies knowledge of standards, established processes, and procedures that apply to your own job.
- Certifications: Medical Laboratory Technician - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- Work Experience: 1 year of relevant work experience
- Education: Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program
