Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Design Specialist to support the development of eLearning and web-based trainings, as well as in-person training sessions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, learning theories, and adult education, with experience in creating interactive and immersive learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop eLearning and web-based trainings, including storyboarding and visual design.
- Assist in writing in-person training materials, data collection manuals, and documents.
- Conduct in-person training sessions and provide technical support as needed.
- Collaborate with project and training leads to produce clear, concise training products that meet the needs of our diverse audience.
- Assess training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Develop questions and specifications for computer-assisted survey instruments.
- Draft instrument testing scripts and related materials.
- Work with subject matter experts to create engaging learning activities and compelling course content.
- Conduct instructional research and analysis to inform design decisions.
- Apply tested instructional design theories and methods to create effective learning experiences.
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
- Develop templates, checklists, and guidelines to support the work of others in this domain.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field.
- At least three years of experience in instructional design and instructional technology.
- Intermediate graphic design, web technology, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and other design tools.
- Teaching, training, and technical writing experience.
- Valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record.
This is a remote position that requires occasional travel to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve our goals.
