Dietary Cook

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team at Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC. As a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents in a safe and sanitary environment.

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established standards and recipes.
• Serve meals attractively and at proper temperature.
• Implement proper cleaning and food handling techniques to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Supervise food service staff and ensure that all kitchen duties are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Receive and check deliveries against invoices and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Clean and maintain the kitchen facility, including floors, walls, equipment, and utensils.
• Perform dish washing and other kitchen duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to bend, stoop, push, pull, and walk and stand for most of the working day.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines.
• Normal range of hearing and vision.
• Free from communicable diseases that pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and carry and transport supplies.
• Capable of performing the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s).

• Experience in food service department, large volume food preparation, and service of food.
• Knowledge of safety techniques and ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

The Dietary Cook will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and noise. The ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude is essential.
