Job Summary

The Division Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of a multi-division unit at the University of California - San Francisco. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent financial management skills, as well as the ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative leadership for a robust, multi-division unit with a budget of $54.8M.
  • Collaborate with the Division Chief to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the work of subordinate managers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective operations and financial management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with external partners, including the Cardiovascular Research Institute and the School of Pharmacy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum eight years of progressively responsible academic and financial management experience.
  • At least five years of experience hiring and managing high-performing employees.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, human resources and risk management planning, accounting and payroll.
  • Advanced project management skills, including the capability to manage capital projects.
  • Excellent leadership abilities to oversee multiple functions or departments through subordinate managers.
