About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Apex Systems. As a key member of our Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations (FEMO) Branch, you will be responsible for supporting the design, construction, and operational start-up activities of various facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Planning: Identify and ensure relevant construction codes and standards are included in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Design Oversight: Review third-party designs and provide input to minimize construction project disruption and avoid property loss and waste.
  • Construction Oversight: Ensure that construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved designs and specifications.
  • Operational Start-up: Ensure that facilities are operational and meet the required standards.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License: Must have a valid P.E. license or have passed the F.E. exam.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering: Must have a degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 10 Years of Experience: Must have at least 10 years of experience in facilities design and construction engineering and management.
  • Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build Experience: Must have experience with design-bid-build and design-build project delivery mechanisms.
  • Customer Requirements Translation: Must be able to translate customer requirements to design options with accurate cost justification.
  • Civil Engineering Experience: Must have experience with site utilities, site design, pavement design, building design, and construction of these items.
  • Engineering Drawing and Specification Reading: Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Engineering Standards and Practices: Must be able to review and revise existing standards of engineering techniques, procedures, and practices in building design and building information modeling.
  • Discipline Coordination: Must be able to coordinate work efforts across other engineering, architecture, and construction disciplines to arrive at best technical and value-based solutions.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Must be able to work a 9/80 schedule and be available to work on-site as required.
