Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical laboratory testing and quality control activities in designated areas of assignment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and complex laboratory analysis on neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Collect and process specimens for testing, including venipuncture.
  • Verify and confirm results through in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instrumentation.
  • Recognize problems, identify causes, and apply solutions.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one to three years' experience as a laboratory technician or technologist in a hospital setting.
  • AS in a chemical, biological, or physical science or medical technology training with at least one year of laboratory training or experience.
  • Meet all training requirements for high complexity testing as defined under 42 CFR Section ; or of the Federal Regulations.
  • MLT (ASCP); CLT (NCA) or equivalent certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent command of oral and written English.
  • Leadership and management abilities.
  • Operation of clinical equipment.
  • Positive interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Competence with hospital-based computer system.
