Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical laboratory testing and quality control activities in designated areas of assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory analysis on neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients as needed.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens using venipuncture and other methods.
  • Verify and confirm results through an in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instrumentation.
  • Recognize and address problems, identify causes, and apply solutions.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and communicate with colleagues and supervisors.

Requirements:

  • AS in a chemical, biological, or physical science or medical technology training with at least one year of laboratory training or experience.
  • MLT (ASCP) or CLT (NCA) certification or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Operation of clinical equipment.
  • Competence with hospital-based computer systems.
