Schedule Details: Flexible schedule Monday - Friday, operational hours from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assist patients for examinations by taking vital signs and collecting relevant health information.
- Monitor and implement Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement initiatives, alerting clinicians to potential enhancements within their scope.
- Conduct laboratory tests adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Support the Physician/Advanced Practice Clinician during procedures including pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, cautery, and colposcopy.
- Administer standard medications as directed by Physician/APC orders or established medical protocols.
- Facilitate necessary procedure or test requests, coordinate new appointment schedules, and manage referrals to external services.
- Collaborate with the Physician/APC and healthcare team members to ensure efficient clinic operations and make adjustments as needed.
- May perform a range of clinical support tasks based on specialty and competencies under clinical supervision.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to provide age-appropriate care for patients.
Licensure and Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA) must be obtained within 45 days unless exempted by the department leader.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or two years of relevant full-time experience within the last five years.
Experience Requirements:
- No prior experience necessary.
Skills and Abilities:
- Capability to perform both routine and advanced technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope after demonstrating competency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in computer operations, including keyboarding and navigating a Windows environment.
- Exhibit customer service skills that enhance the patient experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach overhead throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and bodily fluids is expected.
- Operate all necessary equipment to perform job functions.
