Job Title: Forensic DNA Laboratory Specialist

Quadrant Inc is seeking a highly skilled Forensic DNA Laboratory Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Forensic Laboratory Specialist to work with our software development team to ensure the CODIS system meets the needs of forensic professionals and aligns with legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary forensic expert on the CODIS system, providing deep technical insight and direction on DNA analysis, database management, and forensic science best practices.
  • Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and developers to ensure the CODIS system meets the needs of forensic professionals, aligns with legal requirements, and incorporates technological innovations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document requirements for software improvements, ensuring alignment with forensic and legal protocols.
  • Participate in product testing and validation, reviewing software outputs to ensure the accurate processing of DNA profiles and compliance with CODIS standards.
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies, forensic laboratories, and government stakeholders to align software features with user needs and ensure system updates enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and technical support to internal teams and end users on forensic science applications and the use of CODIS.
  • Ensure all product development and enhancements adhere to local, state, and federal regulations related to DNA forensics, including adherence to FBI and NDIS guidelines.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in DNA forensics, with hands-on experience in analyzing and interpreting DNA evidence, including experience working with CODIS.
  • In-depth knowledge of DNA analysis, forensic laboratory protocols, and the CODIS system, including compliance with FBI and NDIS standards.
  • Familiarity with forensic data management systems, database structures, and software development life cycles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex forensic and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify issues and provide innovative solutions to improve software performance and user experience.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to ensure compliance with forensic and legal standards.
