About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Lead Electrical Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading electrical engineering and design work for a range of facilities, including transit, industrial, and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct electrical engineering and design work for various facilities, including transit, industrial, and commercial structures.
  • Prepare comprehensive design criteria documents, calculations, drawings, and specifications for various electrical systems.
  • Travel to customer facilities to conduct surveys and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Evaluate existing facility electrical systems and provide independent, data-driven technical recommendations to management team and clients.
  • Perform feasibility studies related to microgrid and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) implementations to support sustainability and resilience.
  • Develop designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
  • Develop engineer's cost estimates for electrical systems.
  • Act as the engineer-of-record for design documents and reports covering electrical systems.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide support during construction activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, or Microstation, as well as a strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must demonstrate expertise in the application of the National Electrical Code.
  • A broad range of experience, including facility surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, construction support, and supervision of less experienced engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • A Professional Engineering (P.E.) license with eligibility for reciprocity in other states is preferred.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
