Position Overview:
The Center for Equitable Transit-Oriented Communities (CETOC) is seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher with expertise in data science and artificial intelligence.
About the Role:
The selected candidate will contribute significantly to advancing research in AI applications within transportation planning. This role emphasizes the analysis of large datasets, computer vision techniques, and machine learning methodologies, particularly concerning urban environments and transportation frameworks.
Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential to devise innovative strategies for enhancing transportation infrastructure and planning.
This position is in line with CETOC's mission to foster equitable, transit-oriented communities while ensuring environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pioneering research utilizing AI and machine learning to interpret complex datasets related to transportation and urban development.
- Gather, organize, and analyze travel behavior and environmental data from diverse sources.
- Develop tools and methodologies aimed at planning equitable transit-oriented developments.
- Initiate new research projects that align with CETOC's objectives, employing advanced AI techniques.
- Engage with community stakeholders and assist in grant management as necessary.
This role is supported by grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation and University Transportation Centers.
The researcher will collaborate with professionals from the Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, working alongside experts in transportation and data analytics.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in computer science, data science, urban planning, or a related discipline.
Experience in AI, machine learning, and transportation systems is essential, with a preference for candidates knowledgeable in big data analysis and computer vision. Prior publications as a lead author are also advantageous.
Compensation:
The salary for this position is $61,000.00.
