Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Mon Health seeks a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree or a Graduate of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant training program.
Key Responsibilities- Admit patients, conduct psychiatric evaluations, and complete history and physical (H&P) evaluations within 24 hours of admission.
- Assess patient's psychiatric, physical, and psychosocial needs on a daily basis and develop age-appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with the psychiatrist, patient, family, and treatment team.
- Document pertinent data, including assessments, interventions, and evaluations, in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the psychiatrist and treatment team to establish realistic treatment goals and communicate with patients and their families or guardians.
- Implement appropriate healthcare interventions, using guidelines for a Physician's Assistant or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) prescriptive practice.
- Prepare and complete discharge instructions and discharge summaries.
- Take telephone calls from patients' families/guardians or agencies involved in patient care and provide information, following HIPAA guidelines.
- Call in permissible medication to pharmacies under physician(s) collaborative practice agreement as a Physician's Assistant or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive privileges.
- Collaborate with physicians to address physical or medical needs of patients.
- Collaborate with therapy staff to identify psychotherapeutic needs of individual patients.
- Master of Science in Nursing with a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree or a Graduate of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant training program.
- Experience in adult, adolescent, and child inpatient psychiatric treatment preferred.
- Current West Virginia APRN licensure, Psychiatric Nurse Board Certification, or NCCAP, and Current West Virginia Physician Assistant licensure, Prescriptive Authority, and WV DEA.
