SENIOR PERFORMANCE ENGINEER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with product stakeholders and development teams to identify new functionalities and user requirements for both new and existing applications or extensive development initiatives.
  • Develop or enhance documentation to support engineering efforts, including detailed specifications, implementation guides, architecture diagrams, and design documents.
  • Engage in code evaluations with colleagues and supervisors to ensure adherence to the initial vision outlined in user stories and compliance with standard resource libraries and architectural patterns.
  • Address troubleshooting and support inquiries for applications in production to ensure minimal disruption and maintain operational integrity.
  • Act as a technical leader for an Agile team, actively participating in all Agile ceremonies, including planning, grooming, product demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Guide and mentor junior technical staff, utilizing advanced development tools to enhance the development process.
  • Utilize a DevOps toolchain to construct, inspect, deploy, test, and promote new or updated features.
  • Establish and configure a continuous integration environment.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience is preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Proficient programming skills in Java (preferred), C/C++, and/or Python.
  • Advanced understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and analysis.
  • Expertise in applying analysis/design engineering functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of non-functional software qualities such as resiliency and maintainability.
  • Advanced skills in behavior-driven testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in Performance Engineering practices, including code reviews, application profiling, and optimization.
  • Experience in Performance Testing for Web 2.0, AJAX, SOA/WS, and Java/JEE applications.
  • Expertise in performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, Performance Center, JMeter, and Grinder.
  • Ability to develop test plans, strategies, specifications, scripts, scenarios, and reporting documentation.
  • Capability to create and analyze monitored data, including APM dashboards, to document testing outcomes and diagnose application performance issues.
  • Strong skills in system and application monitoring.
  • Advanced unit testing proficiency and experience leading automation initiatives.
  • Proficient scripting abilities in Perl, Bash, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of RDBMS/SQL and familiarity with Solaris or Linux operating systems.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and its functionalities is a plus.
  • Creative, self-driven, and capable of demonstrating effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
