Job Summary

Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled Paramedic Level II to join our team in Hershey, Pennsylvania. As a Paramedic Level II, you will be responsible for administering basic and advanced emergency medical care to patients, assessing injuries and illnesses, and providing critical care in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer basic and advanced emergency medical care to patients
  • Assess injuries and illnesses, and provide critical care in emergency situations
  • Use equipment such as EKGs and administer medication intravenously as needed
  • Assume a lead role on routine transports and provide guidance to junior team members
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of an approved Paramedic training program required
  • Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT-P) certification within the Commonwealth of PA or Pre-Hospital Health Professional credential required
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Paramedic or one (1) year of experience as a Paramedic and one (1) year previous supervisory EMS experience or PHRN (Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse)
  • Three (3) years total of pre-hospital experience required
  • Basic Life Support certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification, EVOC certificate, and NIMS (100, 200, 700 & 800) are required
  • A valid PA Driver's License with at least a 2 year driving history before beginning employment is required
  • Completion of approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Training program PA DOH EMSVO NIMS (100, 200, 700 & 800)
  • PA Hazmat awareness training is required within 30 days of employment
  • Must obtain Medical Command within 90 days of start date
