Job Summary:
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Refrigeration Technician with expertise in ammonia refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with ammonia line openings, pump downs, and a comprehensive understanding of the safety protocols associated with handling this hazardous substance.
This position demands a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and efficient maintenance practices, particularly during the second shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Ammonia Refrigeration Systems:
Carry out maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems. Must be adept at identifying and addressing issues swiftly and effectively.
Line Openings & Pump Downs:
Execute safe and efficient line openings and pump downs as part of routine maintenance and emergency protocols.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines concerning ammonia systems, ensuring a secure working environment. Familiarity with the odor of ammonia and associated safety measures is essential.
System Monitoring:
Oversee system performance, conducting regular inspections to ensure optimal operation. Proactively identify potential issues before they escalate.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with fellow technicians and operators, providing guidance and support as needed. Effective communication in English is a must.
Shift Work:
This role requires the ability to work the 2nd shift (2 PM - 10 PM) and may include weekend and overtime responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems, including performing line openings and pump downs.
Technical Skills:
A robust understanding of HVAC systems, specifically ammonia refrigeration. Experience with HVAC alone is insufficient; ammonia-specific experience is required.
Safety Knowledge:
A comprehensive understanding of safety protocols related to ammonia refrigeration systems.
Language:
Fluency in English is required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in environments where ammonia is present and safely manage the physical demands of the role.
