Job Summary

This field-based General Maintenance Technician role is responsible for supporting the maintenance function of assigned Dollar General stores within a geographic area. The position requires immediate in-person response to resolve maintenance tickets, including proactive assessment of preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to assigned Dollar General locations to resolve maintenance tickets and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Partner with store leaders to identify and address entry-level maintenance repairs, including educating them on maintenance best practices.
  • Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document, communicate, and interact with key business partners.
  • Interact with operational leadership, including Store Managers, District Managers, Regional Directors, and Divisional Vice Presidents, as well as external vendors and maintenance service providers.
  • Advance the mission of customer service and brand growth through the execution of Dollar General's maintenance standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Active driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%.
  • Ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous store management or retail experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Unbridled commitment to customer service.
