Corewell Health is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Farmington Hills. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Respiratory Care department.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders.
- Participate in the education of patients and their families on respiratory care and disease management.
- Provide technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care.
- Assist patients of all ages with acute and chronic illness in returning to a productive lifestyle.
- Provide general respiratory therapeutic services, including oxygen therapy, medical gas therapy, bronchodilator therapy, airway maintenance therapy, and non-invasive ventilation (NIV).
- Provide diagnostic respiratory services and non-invasive monitoring, including pulse oximetry, arterial blood gas procurement, capnography, pulmonary function testing, apnea screening, bronchoscopy assistance, and EKG procurement.
- Manage ventilators, administer and monitor oxygen use, aerosolized medications, and therapeutic modalities.
- Perform critical care procedures, including airway management, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, and patient transport.
- Assess patients and recommend patient care plans per established protocols.
- Clean, assemble, and maintain equipment per infection control guidelines.
- Troubleshoot problems and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- CRT-Respiratory Therapist Certification - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care (required within 90 days).
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association (required upon hire).
- LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan (required within 90 days).
