Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the consistent quality and safety of all Primal Pet Foods products. The successful candidate will inspect products, verify quality, and collect samples to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct visual inspections of packaging and coding of finished products
  • Verify the quality of products and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Collect samples from all operating lines for each batch
  • Perform hourly line checks to ensure quality and safety
  • Verify the ingredients used in production and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Conduct and document audits to ensure quality and safety
  • Respond to quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Review and ensure compliance with HACCP Critical Control Points (CCP's)
  • Perform direct observations to identify potential issues
  • Develop and maintain communication with QA, production, and management teams
  • Implement corrective actions and preventative measures to ensure quality and safety
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school equivalency required; college coursework in Food Safety or related field preferred
  • 1 year of experience as a Quality technician; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to understand percentages and units of measurement
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
  • Must be punctual and regular attendance is required
  • Food industry experience and knowledge of GMP's are a must
  • Experience with quality and food safety systems required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other employees in a respectful manner
Work Environment

This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail.
