Abilene Christian University is a faith-based institution that values integrity, compassion, and excellence. We are seeking a skilled Pool Technician to join our team in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our campus water features.

Job Summary

The Pool Technician will work under the supervision of the Director of Landscape & Grounds to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of our fountains and pools. This includes monitoring water quality, cleaning and maintaining mechanical parts, and performing daily tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain water quality in fountains and pools
• Clean and maintain mechanical parts of water features
• Perform daily tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Assist other trades and grounds personnel as needed
• Develop and cross-train in a manner that keeps personnel up-to-date and safe

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and five years of hands-on experience with landscape, grass, and interior plant materials
• Associate degree in Horticulture
• Successful candidate must be honest, trustworthy, dependable, responsible, punctual, and have a good moral character and work ethic
• Must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check
• Possession of a valid Texas driver's license is a requirement of this job
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check
• Must be neat and clean in appearance at all times

Working Conditions

The Pool Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to extreme heat and cold weather conditions. Must be able to climb a ladder and lift, carry, and pull loads in excess of 50 pounds.
