GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The educator is tasked with fostering a secure and intellectually stimulating learning atmosphere where every student is actively involved in significant activities. The educator applies knowledge of adolescent growth and subject matter expertise to educate a diverse student body. Additionally, the educator exemplifies lifelong learning by collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The educator:
  1. designs, plans, and delivers instruction utilizing a variety of methods and resources suitable for all learners.
  2. creates and sustains a positive educational environment.
  3. evaluates student learning through various formal and informal assessment techniques.
  4. maintains required documentation and records.
  5. communicates regularly with families regarding student progress.
  6. collaborates with colleagues, families, the community, and other organizations to enhance student learning.
  7. connects academic knowledge to real-world applications.
  8. participates in professional development opportunities.
  9. demonstrates professional expertise.
  10. performs additional duties as outlined in Board policies and/or state regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Possess an Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate.
  2. Possess a Bachelor's degree.
  3. Have an understanding of student needs, including at-risk, ethnic, limited English proficient, and exceptional learners.
  4. Have completed Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or be willing to engage in staff development.
