Role Responsibilities

Oversee the creation of a detailed project safety strategy for TuSimple, collaborating with partners (e.g., vehicle manufacturers, component suppliers) to synchronize with their project timelines.

Engage with team members (e.g., Engineering Quality Management) to formulate ISO 26262 Supporting Process Procedures, Instructions, and establish effective record collection methodologies.

Assist in generating ISO 26262 work products as stipulated by safety standards to validate compliance of the Safety Case.

Identify the necessary work packages for adherence to safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL4600) and ensure appropriate project staffing.

Coordinate with program managers regarding the project safety strategy in relation to the program schedule and deliverables.

Lead the formulation of a comprehensive safety case based on UL 4600.

Direct the development of a thorough safety process that aligns with both internal and external procedural standards.

Support the formulation of the safety concept.

Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis.

Experience & Skills Required

Possess a B.S. or higher degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Demonstrated experience collaborating with suppliers and OEMs on safety analysis and requirements.

Hands-on experience with ISO 26262 from concept through to production.

Practical experience with ISO SOTIF from concept through to production.

Strong knowledge of UL 4600.

Proven experience in developing a project safety strategy in accordance with ISO 26262:2018.

Experience in creating a safety case and advocating for it in production programs.

Hands-on experience in autonomous driving technology.

Understanding of software quality concepts and processes (ASPICE).

Strong knowledge of operating systems: ROS (Robot Operating System), QNX.

Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.), and supporting electronic circuits.

Strong knowledge of compute platforms (e.g., NVIDIA).

Understanding of software simulation, validating software functions, and software safety mechanisms.

Familiarity with C/C++ and related coding standards (e.g., Automotive MISRA or similar).

Applied understanding of SOC, AUTOSAR, or similar embedded software, algorithms, and data structures.

Preferred experience with HARA and Functional Safety Concept for complex safety systems.

Preferred experience in creating detailed Hardware Software Interface specifications (HSI).

Preferred experience in deriving technical safety requirements from Functional Safety Concepts, Technical Safety Concepts, and System Architecture Design.

Preferred experience in vehicle architectures and software architecture, including safety architectures.

Experience with ANSYS Medini Analyze is an added advantage.
