Position Overview

The In-House Laundry Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of linen services within the facility. This position is essential for ensuring that all linen is properly handled and available for use.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Gather soiled linens from various locations throughout the facility at the start of each shift. Ensure linens are sorted and laundered according to the designated program cycles.
  • Neatly fold and restock clean linens into the appropriate linen carts for distribution on the following business day. Delivery to specific areas may be required.
  • Keep an accurate daily log of linens laundered and update the laundry disbursement records at the end of each month.
  • Alert the Central Supply department when maintenance is needed on any equipment used in the laundry process.
  • Perform daily cleaning of filters for both washing machines and dryers.
  • Monitor inventory levels of laundry chemicals and place orders as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Be aware of potential exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Participate in OSHA training during initial orientation and complete annual OSHA competency evaluations.
Collaboration

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: This role requires effective collaboration with co-workers to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and engage in extensive walking and standing throughout the shift.

NOTE: This position requires availability for two days a week, specifically Thursday and Friday, starting at 3:00 PM until the tasks are completed.
